Our Patron-President Emeritus Marie Louise Coleiro Preca
Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca was the ninth President of the Republic of Malta. She took the oath of President of Malta on the 4th of April 2014 through a parliamentary resolution that was approved unanimously by the House of Representatives on 1 April 2014.
For us, a young self help group, dealing in Mental Health, it was the now President Emeritus, Coleiro Preca who most kindly came forward immediately, to offer us the use of the Russian Chapel, inside San Anton Palace, to house our monthly meetings and activities. She also accepted to be our first Patron. No sooner had incoming President Dr. George Vella, taken office, that he most kindly gave us full access to the facilities that his predecessor had offered. Be Positive members are ever so grateful for this full hearted support by the Presidency.
This helped us a lot since what already was stigma, was not further emphasised locally. Since our first meeting on the 8th May 2015, we normally meet every second Friday of the month – unless it is a Public Holiday.
Meanwhile, on the 1st September, 2015, we were honoured that the President, H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, accepted to be our Patron.
The first version of this Website was created by Carlo Prato. It was launched by our Patron during a Special Presentation on the 30th March 2016 during World Bipolar Day, at the Verdala Palace.
